Return to School & Covid 19 Updates
March 31, 2020 - All Diocese of Palm Beach Schools Virtual Instruction Continues with Campuses Closed Through May 1, 2020 (Read Letter Below)
July 17, 2020
Welcome Back! It has been about five months since we have seen your children on campus, and we are taking the return of students and the mission of St. Anastasia Catholic School in our community very seriously. The statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus has recently been added to the center of our campus. What an appropriate time for our school to learn more about our devotion to His Sacred Heart and His merciful love for us! Please take a moment this week to pray for our school community and recognize Jesus as the cornerstone of your family, our Church, and our school. As we begin this tumultuous start to the school year, we must trust that Jesus loves us too much to abandon us for even a moment. If we trust completely in Him, He will guide us through all of the challenges that each day will present to us.
We have been working all summer on preparing our plans, our facility, and our programs for the greatly anticipated return of students. The information provided on our website, in our newsletters, in our weekly addresses, at our orientations, and in the mailed information that you will be receiving will equip your family with valuable information for your return to school. Your child’s class placement ticket will be mailed today. All families will receive the first official newsletter of the year next week. Next week's newsletter details important information that you will need to begin this exciting new school year at St. Anastasia. If you are not receiving the e-newsletters, please make sure to contact Mrs. Linette Trabulsy at firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the recipient list. If you need clarification on anything that is mentioned or enclosed in this letter, please do not hesitate to call the school office.
We are going to proceed one day at a time for the first quarter, adapt to changes and remain open to constant improvements to our plans. Posted on our website and included in this newsletter is our return to school (RTS) plan (Click HERE). Implementing this plan and monitoring the safety of our community will be our first priority as we return to campus.
The school will be closed on August 3rd for an employee retreat to start off our year with a renewed devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Below is a list of important back to school activities that are being planned for the start of school:
Class Supply Drop Off
We will not be having our traditional Open House this year. Alternatively, our teachers will be available to accept supplies and to say hello during the week of August 4th. If you would like to meet your teachers before the first day of school, please bring supplies at the following dates/times:
Similar to how we handled book drop off at the beginning of summer, the Supply Drop Off will work in a “drive by” fashion. During the hours listed above, please drive to the north side of the auditorium to be greeted by your child’s teachers and assistants. We ask that you do not exit your car during the drop off. Families who do not wish to drop off supplies in advance are welcome to send supplies with their child on the first day of school.
New Parent Orientation - Zoom Meeting (Date and Time To Be Determined)
All new families are strongly encouraged to participate in the parent orientation Zoom meeting. New families who sign in at this event will receive an hour of volunteer time for participating in this informative orientation. We will review all the necessary information and on-line tools that you will use to begin your developing relationship with St. Anastasia Catholic School.
Classroom Orientation Sessions
Parents will receive important classroom information from teachers during the classroom orientations that we plan to hold, on Zoom, after school starts. We will announce the dates and times of these class-specific orientation sessions in the weeks ahead.
Yours in Christ’s Service,
Kevin A. Hoeffner, Ph.D.
