Covid-19 Protocols for the 2021-22 School Year

01.14.22

Dear St. Anastasia Parents, Families, and Friends,

As we begin 2022 United in Jesus, we have so many joyous occasions to look forward to at St. Anastasia. Attached you will find an update from our diocesan administration on COVID-19 protocol changes. Along with this announcement, I'd like to share upcoming events that will provide an opportunity for our community to connect and engage in the celebration of family life on our campus:
  • Catholic Schools Week begins January 30th and we will offer masses the entire week for parents to attend with their children. A schedule of Catholic Schools Week events will be shared with you soon.
  • Our Third Annual Building on Faith Gala on February 4th will provide a culminating celebration for our $2.5 million Joint Capital Campaign that our community has supported with such dedication.
  • This Spring, we will continue to provide parent masses, award ceremonies, liturgies, and celebrations that will be conducted in outdoor venues and/or with other safety precautions in mind.
  • Our competitive sports program remains active, our intramural sports will start soon, and our Rams Fun Run will be celebrated in April as a safe outdoor event. We look forward to parent attendance at these family gatherings.

These are just a few examples of joyous occasions for our St. Anastasia community to celebrate together. As always, we will continue to monitor and adapt to how we can best provide a safe and nurturing environment for our families and staff. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to prioritize faith, family, and excellence in an always changing world.

Dear St. Anastasia Families,

St. Anastasia Catholic School continues to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and adjust our internal protocols accordingly to provide for the health and safety of our students. This afternoon, the Diocese of Palm Beach issued an updated memo to all parents and families regarding the use of facial coverings on campus and while on school transportation as well as other additional guidelines for the start of school tomorrow. Please read the attached document in its entirety; however, please note that the main change is that all individuals are now required to wear facial coverings while on campus effective immediately. Families may, however, opt out of having their child wear a facial coving by signing the opt-out link below. Please note that the Diocese has stated that facial coverings may be required at certain times for all students, regardless of opt-out, at the discretion of the president/principal for short periods of time such as Mass attendance, small group work, or other reasons.

Opt-out form linked here - Please note that this must be completed for each child in a family who you would like to opt-out of the temporary facial coverings requirement.

The Office of Catholic Schools continues to review guidance from the CDC, state and local health departments and other sources to revise and update our guidelines for Catholic schools in the Diocese of Palm Beach. Our plan for the 2020-21 school year allowed us to have students in classrooms well before many schools in the country. The precautions we took provided a safe and healthy environment in our schools. The diocese will continue to monitor the pandemic and respond as needed in our protocols and guidelines. As we all know, the response to the pandemic has changed and evolved over the past year and a half, and our guidelines will continue to be revised accordingly as needed throughout the 2021-22 school year. Diocesan policies are independent of public guidelines given our unique circumstances with churches and schools and should not be considered amended unless/until notified by the Diocese of Palm Beach.
